Ok,
I would appreciate some help here, I have been shopping for a new boat now for quite some time and am not sure if I should end up with a fully welded aluminum boat or with the new lund pro angler. I mainly do freshwater fishing and do not fish any shallow rivers. Both have benefits and both have drawbacks. The lund is very well set up and also handles supremly.

Any help would be appreciated

The only advantage a rivetted boat has over a welded boat is the speed and ease on can be manufactured(which can make the boat cheaper). The only time a rivet is better than a weld is when the alum. is too thin to weld or it is a crappy weld job (ie tac welded or impure welds) and I don't recommend buying a boat that has alum too thin to weld on even if it is rivetted! From a performance, durability, and re-sale point of view a nicely welded boat is better than a rivetted one. Any thing else they tell you is BS in my expirience. That's my two cents. Wink

Clearwater is right and that is the standard answer. Riveted or not, Lunds seem to hold their resale value very well.

It absolutely boggles my mind how much people will pay for a riveted boat. I've seen Lunds for sale for as much as same sized welded boats with twice as much aluminum.

I guess the advantage to a riveted boat is that they are light to tow since they're made out of metal not much thicker than a pop can.
