Hit the Powerlines again today and managed to squeak out one fish on a K-14 Kwikfish silver w/chartreuse bill.
Does anybody else have anything to report?

Good job. Wish I could have been there too. I did hit the Tucannon for a long hard day of bushwacking up and down the river (Saturday). I saw several steelhead, including a really nice one, but alas, I just could not get any love (a few showed some interest, but no take, and I had one strike that didn't hook-up, and one other that came unhooked near the bank). I also caught and released lots of beautiful trout. I've spent many fruitless hours of casting practice on the Yakima this season (although I hear it's hot at the moment), and I got blanked at Ringold too. I did manage a small old dark chinook on the Klick a few weekends ago, which I turned loose to finish its job. It's been a rough season for catching, but many fine hours on the rivers none-the-less. Got a trip planned to the 'Ronde in a couple of weeks, I figure I'm due.
Better luck to the rest of ya!

I was at Ringold yesterday (October 8th, Saturday) for the late afternoon bite. I try to avoid the place on weekends but the water release at Priest Rapids in the morning was looking good for Ringold in late afternoon. It was dead. Not many folks left fishing. Nobody I talked to had seen a Steelhead. Talked to the checker and he had not checked or heard of any Steelhead from the bank. I miight go down to the Umatilla for a few days. At least I can get skunked in a quiet peacefull place. Might get lucky with an early Steelhead, or maybe a jack.
If a generous soul wants to PM directions to good water on the Walla Walla, I'll go explore it while it's still low.

I hit the yakima for a few hours last week on Sun, Thurs and Fri. Managed two kings. Things have slowed down since the rains, but should hopefully pick back up this week. I figure one more week of good fishing until the irrigation water is shut off. There are still fish in decent shape to be had!

I went on the Skokomish and got a nice king on a purple corky and chartreuse yarn ... odd combo, I know...but it worked.
Everyone else was using Red corky and yarn, and most people were snagging. Fish were thick, too. Too packed that day for my tastes.
