Did any of you all get out this weekend? I work retail sales (Tri-Cities Motor Sales) and work weekends, so there isn't much I can do then. There is a guy down the street from me that shows up on the weekend that has a jet boat. Its always prepped to hit the water.

So any good news on salmon and steelhead this weekend?

Took a beating this weekend. Blanked Saturday trolling herring on downriggers off of Bateman; blanked again on Sunday trolling jigs/prawns/wiggle warts. I grew up on the banks thinking, "if only I had a boat..." Now that I have one, I think I'd do much better on the bank. But what's a guy to do if he wants to include the family? BTW, did you get my pm to you a few days ago?

It's still pretty spotty out there. It better turn on soon! We got two and lost one on Friday and got two adults and a jack and lost one Saturday. All at Vernita, four on mag warts and one on a kwik.
This is the slowest fishing I can recall for this time of year-- lots of long faces out there.

Well I just joined the forum because my sister got me hooked on steelhead fishing. I had my first battle with a steelie on the 5th if I remember correctly. I caught him at Ice Harbor dam at the road pull off with the restroom on site. Yep, I am hooked on steelhead. What a fight...reel and peel, reel and peel. finally wore him out and got him to the bank and was thinking this bad boy is goiing to look good in the smoker and or baked. Well he had a adopose fin and had to throw him back. guy said he was about 14-15 lbs and messured 34"..Bummer I didnt get to keep him but his or her babies with make some lucky fisherman a day he will remember...
