I like drifting eggs myself. I will use other tactics but the bread and butter is drifting eggs.

I prefer to fish a corky and yarn bounced off of the bottom with a little Roe scent or gel krill. I would like to explore using a jig and bobber or possibly drifting eggs under a bobber, but I have had little success doing so. I have spent most my life fishing rivers with spinners and weight, I do not have a good grasp on using a bobber.

It seems I spend more time hooking the bottom while trying to figure out how deep I need to have the jig in the water, or losing the Roe off of my hook after about 2-3 casts. Maybe you could all recommend how far from the bottom you need to be with a jig or Roe?

I would love to get out with someone who could show me how to use this set up better. I have had many fishermen tell me that I am backwards for saying that drift fishing seems easier, but it really is to me.

WENT DOWN THERE AND TRIED A FEW SPOTS BELOW HWY 12. I DIDN'T HAVE A LOT OF TIME TO FISH. TALKED TO A COUPLE OF GUYS THAT HADN'T SEEN ANYTHING. RAN INTO A GUY FROM THE GAME DEPT DOING FISH COUNTS AND HE DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING EITHER. I WAS CHECKING THINGS OUT MAINLY SINCE IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD BEEN DOWN TO THE TUCANNON TO FISH.

I went out the other day on the Kalama with a bober and jig for the first time. I would like to learn more about the set up. Maybe someone could give me a few pointers.

I found this site to be helpful before I started fishing jigs. Hope it helps.

I have two favorites, Float Fishing and Drift Fishing. During the summer months I will use mostly jig & float or spinners.

I really enjoy fishing the corky / yarn setup with a little bit of roe. This is somewhat knew to me.

I am most successful using a float and jig with a piece of shrimp.
