Is fishing above Mcnary still a viable option or are most of the fish upriver by now? I was thinking of heading to Mcnary tonight, but don't want to waste my time

Should be worth the trip. My uncle got skunked earlier this week, but saw several fish caught.

newtothis,

In my opinion, the fish are just hanging out right now waiting for a place to go. The smaller rivers haven't swelled to a degree that causes the fish to rush into them. I think you would be better off fishing upstream from Mcnary at this point. There are still many anglers fishing the Columbia near Wallulla Junction and even upriver near Mcnary.

Good luck.

Eric

My uncle-in-law went last night and lost one while his buddy got a 13 lb keeper. They were off the water by around 10pm.

Absolutely! It will fish well until March. We got two keepers and two nates and lost two today, plus had a few other bites.

I figured it would be a good bite when both you and Mark had to turn down a trip!
