2006 Yakima FALL Sport Salmonid Creel Summary
An estimated 103 chinook were harvested this week. Angler effort continues to increase. Anglers averaged 31 pole hours per fish (1 chinook per 11 anglers). An estimated 287 chinook have been harvested in the Yakima River in 2006 compared to 94 fish in 2005. Angler effort to date is well above last years'.
2006 Hanford Reach Fall Chinook Fishery
An estimated 731 chinook (662 Adults, 69 Jacks) were harvested this week in the Hanford Reach. Anglers averaged 1 chinook for every 22 hours fished (roughly 1/2 chinook per boat). Total chinook harvest to date is 1,579 (1,419 adult, 160 jack). In 2005, 3,665 chinook had been harvested through Oct 2. Angler effort for the week was slightly below last year.
