I exchanged some email with a fellow on another fishing board, ifish.net, regarding the CCA here in Tri-Cities and this is what he had to say:

"We have recieved info from CCA that was forwarded to Jeff Morrow at the Tri- City Herald. That info I assume will be put into a story to generate more interest. I was also told that right after the first of the year we will be contacted to set up a Banquet to get the Tri City Chapter off and running. Please stay in touch as we need all the Members we can to turn the tide and get the ball rolling...."

I'll keep posting info here as it becomes available. I also have a couple more inquiries out that I'm waiting on for some more info. Stay tuned...

Latest word is that the Tri-Cities chapter will have a kick-off meeting Jan 10; time and location TBD. Clear a spot on the calendar and keep your eyes open for more details...

My apologies, I am not quite up to date these days! What is the CCA and what is it's function? How do you become a member?

Sorry I am sure I should know this stuff, but I am drawing a complete blank.

Thanks,
E-Mann

Forgot to mention in the new thread, you can join on-line at www.joincca.org/Join%20CCA.html

I think the $25 memebrship fee goes to the HQ office, but that money gets spent wherever it's needed most nationally--much of it may wind up back here in the PNW and applied to our issues out here--the Salmon/Steelhead issue is one of very high national visibility. Money raised at local chapters stays local (I believe--we can find out for sure at the meetings).

Rich, you can be the one to start a Spokane chapter...
