Slow and disappointing last night. Was only able to go 1 for 2 on lighted Brads and classic Vortexes. Every boat registered in Eastern Washington and Oregon seemed to be on the water.

Well, that's better than my elk hunt, Pasco. We didn't even see a deer, much less an elk! Who the heck goes into the woods and doesn't even see a doe?? Me, that's who!

Maybe I should stick to not catching fish instead of not shooting game.

I dunno. I just like getting out there with a rifle or shotgun. I loooove to eat the critters but if I never shoot another deer or elk that will be okay.

I am into shooting deer with my digital camera. I saw at least 8 doe and 1 buck up Tollgate last night. You know..

That's actually why I like hiking along the Touchet and Tucannon Rivers so much. If you go deep enough into the rivers, you see lots of wildlife. I would be much happier if I saw a few more steelhead, though.

Now... Back to our original topic... Very Happy

I was one of the gazillion boats out there Saturday night. We managed 1 for 2 also, and then 1 for 2 again on Sunday. Nice fish, but so far of the 6 fish I've managed to get to the boat at McNary this year not one of them has been missing a fin. Have the hatchery fish figured it out and started wearing prosthetic adipose fins???

Hey, I hold the patent for prosthetic adipose fins and I've not seen one dime from those damned hatchery fish! I think I'll sue!

Anybody know a good lawyer?

We hit McNary Friday night and Saturday morning and drew the big skunkola. It was reasonably good Saturday morning, and we saw a fair number of fish caught.

Anybody make it out today (Sunday)? The weather was so gorgeous--I really wanted to go.

Trolled three plugs all over the lake Sunday without so much as a bump from a fish. Only saw one fish caught, and that was from the shore near the pump station. Weather was perfect--almost made up for the lousy fishing.

We also trolled 3 plugs all over the lake sunday, we caught 1 skanky salmon, 2 steelhead, 1 keeper, 1 lost at the boat. All of this happened in about a 30 min time frame. About 1130 time frame when the wind started blowing from the west

L&R,

11:30 eh? That was when I let the kids out for our lunch stop at McNary beach!!! That sounds about right--I've had several days like that now where the action comes all at once and the rest of the day is scratch. I don't know if it's just something in the air/water (voodoo) or if you actually happen upon a pod of fish. Who knows--that's why it's fishing...
