Just wanted to share with everyone how great the town of Westport is. Recently made it out there for a weekend trip from Seattle-only 2.5 hours away!
So much to do-fishing, surfing, boating and bike rentals, great dining, crabbing, beach combing. Such beautiful beaches- I didn't realize that there were beaches of this caliber in Washington- I'm never going all the way to Canon Beach again!
The marina district has a nice mixture of upscale restaurants and hole-in-the-wall diners, and likewise there is everything from campgrounds to low budget motels, to luxury condos

Sounds like you had a great vacation. I will have to give it a try. We usually spend time on the Oregon Coast in the Lincoln City / Newport area. I really enjoy the relaxation of the Oregon Coast and haven't given much thought to the Washington Side.

What kind of fishing did you do or see? I've been thinking about a run out there for surf perch.
