The action around here sure seems to have slowed a bit.... I also hear the fishing has slowed quite a bit of late. I was at the Tucannon on Wednesday and I sure didn't see anyone out there fishing besides me.

Has anyone been out lately? Does anyone have any fishing plans around the holiday and holiday weekend?

scott

Scottlake, any luck when you fished the Tuc? Heading there or Ringold tomorrow so I'm curious if you had any action.

The action on the Tucannon was horrific.......... probably my worst day of fishing ever and the water was so ultra clear....... I'm taking a couple weeks off of the Tucannon..... not much luck at all lately.

Yea, I will be poking around McNary, Ice Harbor, the Walla Walla, and maybe even the Touche tomorrow and over the holiday.

I was at Ringold yesterday. No luck for me, but I saw at least three folks with fish--one lost on the bank, and a couple taken on boats.

I hit the Tucannon Saturday and had a little success. I ended up going 2-4 with one wild fish released and one hatchery fish. It really bugs me when I lose fish. Why cant we catch all of the ones we hook. I guess the barbless hook can accound for some of it. Well, the wild fish I released was a super nice fish. It measured out at 33" and was chrome bright! I caught that one on the lower portion of the river which suprised me as I did see some salmon in some of the areas. The hatchery fish that I caught is a funny story. I was fishing in the upper reaches of the river when bobber down. So I set the hook and before I engaged my reel I accidently let go of my spool. Alot of the time I am free spooling my bobber below me into holes or runs instead of casting up and retreiving back. Well lets just say that it made one hell of a rats nest. It was so bad I couldnt even reel in. I ended up landing the little hatchery fish by stripping my line in like a fly rod. When it would run I would have to walk down stream with it so it didnt break me off. Actually I was more worried about losing my gear than the fish! After about 10 minutes I got it landed and decided I better keep it since I had to fight it so long. Talk about a mess though. I ended up having to cut some of the line out of my reel, but have enough left I dont have to re-spool it yet. The two fish that I lost I am pretty sure were wild fish as they werent fighting like the typical hatchery fish. Here is a picture of the hatchery fish that I caught.

Dev, I was fishing the Tuc Saturday too, was that you with a buddy walking upstream with your fish last evening? I was just getting ready to throw in below a small chute and said hello to a couple of fellas. Just curious. BTW I started at Ringold yesterday morning and didn't even see a fish on gave up at noon & hit the Tuc for the remainder. 1 on and 1 LDR, lol.

Nope that wasnt me. I was fishing alone yesterday. In the afternoon I was on the upper part of the river. Look for a Red Chevy Z71 with a Loomis sticker in the back window and that is me. Where were you fishing at in the afternoon?

The camera is on my phone sucks, but it is all I carry. I really dont take too many pictures. I might invest in a camera for fishing, but I would probably drop it in the river!

I was fishing just about a mile above the RV park. I drive a green GMC Sierra with a jumping salmon graphic in the rear window and a set of mule deer antlers hanging from the rear view mirror, lol.

Did you find any public access up there? I haven't been above Morengo in some time.
