I had a conference on olympia last week and thought I would sneek away one evening and fish the Cowlitz with Bob Barthlow of RiversNW guide service. This is the third time I have gone with Bob and he knows how to catch fish! I met him at Blue Creek at around 4pm and an hour and five minutes later we had our 4 fish limit between the two of us. All were ~10lbs. What a blast. I have never been in fishing that hot before. It was awesome. Bob then took his time to show me around the river. I think I am going to have to get a sled one of these years! What a beautiful place to fish. Weather was great to boot. Now I am primed for a fall salmon run!

Nice looking fish! I'll be headin' that way later in the month; if Bob's still running his evening specials I'll have to give it a try.

If you are planning to go I would give him a call soon. I know he was getting pretty well booked up for the summer. He is a great guy and a damn good fisherman. I have learned a ton from him.

Nice fish Dev88t! I will be looking forward to the summer run as well. I'm getting green with envy just looking at the 4 salmon you both caught. I wish I was able to break away and go after the springers, work just wasn't cooperating this year. :(
