Any one fished Ringold lately? I have not heard much out of that place this year.

I've been fishing Ringold a couple of days per week. It's been slow for most people. The proportion of bigger fish (three salts) is higher than normal since the main run (two salts) this year is weak and last years run (two salts) was strong.

I hit Ringold Saturday. Saw a nice one landed shortly after arriving, and heard of another one caught. Also saw one lost at the bank late in the day. I was zipped, and the creel checker said that's been a common theme this season, although he said fishing from a boat was marginally better.

There was an 18# Steelhead taken by a boater out of Ringold last week. Must have been a B-Run stray.

The number of boats is way down during the week. I don't know what's happening weekends.

Adipose, Starfish, have you guys been fishing?

Fishing? What's fishing? I've been pretty busy doing other things and have been chasing (not killing, but chasing) pheasants when I can get away for a couple hours. My boat currently doesn't go into reverse and I've thus far been too cheap to fix it.

Last year we did well at Ringold in January. Caught a couple very big ones too. Is there a Ringold B run?? Wink

This time of year McNary might be better?? How about the Snake?

All the Steelhead plants at Ringold are little Wells stock fish. Any B-stock fish caught are strays from the Snake.

It would make a lot of sense to plant some B-stock smolts at Ringold. They are in system fish just like Wells fish are.

I've not seen anyone fish bobbers at Ringold. There are probably a few spots where bobbers would work, but due to the strong current, most people drift eggs or other drift gear. It's actually a good place for rookie drift fishers (like me). The strong current tends to keep you from getting hung up, and theres no deadfall or debris to worry about.

Good luck,
