Went fishing for Springers for the first time with 2 friends. Very Happy Arrived at Drano Lake on Monday 5-3-04 after we set up camp around 3:30 PM and started trolling wiggle warts. One friend had the first 1 netted by 4:00. 33"x25lbs. Then on the second pass trough in the exact hole I caught my first springer Laughing 34" x 23lbs. Rest of day (4 more hours) very slow.

Tuesday started out at 1/2 before sun up. One in boat by 7am-30"x20lbs.
Rest of day extremely slow and more and more windy with whitecaps.

Fished the Wind River from 7am until 2pm Wednesday as Drano was closed for netting. Got skunked......only saw 6 taken where we were.

Thursday woke up with high hopes to Drano, at 1/2 hour before sun up trolling. Very chilly and the wind blowing from the north. Saw 12 taken, smaller in size then the previous days. Skipper finally snagged one little guy, then slowed way down and packed up and headed for home.

Looking forward to hitting it again bright and early the 13th. Wink
Even though I only caught one (nice one) on the vacation, that was enough for me to have springer fever now! Razz

Did you use a straight wiggle wart? What colors were working? How deep?
