when is a good time to start pretty new to steelhead opens tommorow?pull plugs?or go with bobber shrimp?or jigs?night or day?

Well its when you can start keeping them at ice harbor per say. Early in the morning is when most people go after them. Bobber with shrimp

I posted another question under boats maybe you could check it out if you or someone you know has had this problem?thanx for the info.if I don't have to work in the morning i just might head over to mcnary i kinda been promising to take my mother out fishing

what color shrimp would you use there i've had pretty good luck at ringold using the purple dyed stuff?

Definitely purple if you're using shrimp. With the water temperature being so high at Ice Harbor I would think plugs or spinners would be more the ticket below the dam, but you never know! In the slack water above the dam the bobber and shrimp option is probably the right answer.

Remember that barbless hooks are required on the Snake. Also, because of the special opener for chinook there this year, there is a night closure in effect below Ice Harbor (and below Little Goose) as well.

Then i might see you out there, I'll be on the jetty as soon as the park opens up, the road is over kill for me. Hey star fish so the lighter color stuff wont work?

The lighter stuff will work, just like the big ugly prawns will work or sand shrimp will work. But the small dark red/purple coon shrimp are hard to beat.

I actually prefer a deep red prawn. Have to dye myself to get the exact color though. I often take a small jar of purples for the days when that is the hot ticket but normally they go to waste.

heading over to ice harbor in the morning how far down should i run my shrimp below bobber?has anyone had luck pulling plugs?to be clear this is a three fish limit 1clipped fin????

6-12 feet for most people, see you out there, me and buddy will be on the jetty
