i'm a newby at this steelhead thing started this year in october.tried ice harbor twice.went to steelhead derby oct.22 at mcnary.been out to ringold about a dozen times. onlyhad luck at ringold caught 1 withshrimp under bobber.caught 5 keepers 2wilds drifting corkies.took my daughter and she caught 1 only time i got her to fish all year.have not fished for a couple of weeks people tell me it gets really slow til after xmas.any help with what to do now would be appreciated.i gotta get back to fishing(after this cold snap]

I fish the Snake through February and occasionally into March. Not much competition from the masses of fair weather fishermen so there is usually plenty of room. Fishing can be slow but there is a hot bite just often enough to keep it interesting (at least for a sicko like me). It beats the hell out of sitting home watching hockey.

Just like McNary. Bobber and shrimp and plugs are both good during the day. When it is windy I fish from shore and if it is calm I boat it and split my time 50/50. Night time is the blinking plug thing.
