Rainbow Lake's large lunkers were hitting hard on 03/22/2004. We took a trip down to Rainbow Lake and fished for around 2 hours. I used a beeded nymph fly pattern. My wife used salmon eggs.
I was fishing for approximately 10 minutes and had a lunker on. This trout measured in at around 15 inches. In no time, I had landed two more average size planted lake trout.
The lakes are still in great condition and uncrowded.
Here is a photo taken of the trout caught today. I decided on having a trout BBQ.

The lakes are about 30 minutes above Dayton, Washington in Columbia County. This is also the general area of the Tucannon River Hatchery. The Tucannon River Dumps into the Snake River near Lions Ferry.
