I have been talking to allot of people about springers. Just wondering where you are planning on fishing for springers this year?
I want to fish Longview,Wa more this year.
plus I will be staying at my sisters house in Vancouver,WA. Fish between the two bridges. 205 - I-5
and when the mainstream is closed, I will be at Drano and or Mouth of the Wind River. What about you?

I forget to mention below McNary Dam. I didn't fish here for obvious reasons.

I do not like being a pessimist but I was alarmed by an artical posted online via the Seattle PI today 1/7/10 "Barking up a new tree: Is this where San Francisco's famed sea lions moved?" Apparently the sea lions, being opportunistic feeders, have made a mass exodus north to the Oregon coast. I am not a scientist but I think this will be an epic year of predatation of the spring chinook below Bonneville. If you have ever watched the carnage below the dam (and I have) it appeared the sea lions just kept thrashing fish after they were full just for sport. Gawd I hope I am dead wrong... time will tell.

went below ice harber today looked pretty slow saw a few picked up i could not get my anchor to hold gonna try again tommorow also i went and got 4 feet of pretty heavy chain and a longer rope i'm using a 25 pound anchor on a 16 foot crestliner with a lot of weight in it should that hold my boat.my anchor is not a river anchor but its one of those ones that grab not a mushroom anchor

Frank,
You might consider a few more feet of chain. Might be overkill but I use 8' on my 17' boat. Also make sure you have at least 100' of anchor rope. Probably take at least 3x depth and maybe substantially more to stick depending on the cobble and current speed. At one spot on Sunday we probably had 100' out in 20' of water for a 20' boat. That was with a very good heavy river anchor too.
Good luck!
