4/10/04 in water at 6am 30+boats breeze from east at 7 ,5 to 10 by blowing hard by 9,15 to 20 full blowen freaking wind at 10am 2 to 3 chop and white by noon ,then 25 to 35 gusts at 1pm,wind cutting the tops of the 3to4 rollers.this was nuts saw no fish caught by 1 till the wife yells fish on she sets hook and fight on ,wind still blowing at 20 wife battling hard ,then it hit me i had left the king salmon net at home.i had a net a much smaller bug eye iornhead net,not a net for at 24# class springer but had to net in the gale wind fish was hooked deap in the nose with belly hook no way this fish is getting away.time to net slip net down for nose to slip in net,the trail hook sinks in deep to front of net ,wamo no more net to put a 24# spring king into the walleye net all hell brakes loose the wind blowing boat rocking, the fight was on fish thrashing, wife yelling dont loose her fish.fish fighting,me fighting fish and trying to stay in boat, snap fish floats of into wave along with the wifes hat she snaps back moter back and get my floating hat.i grab net her brads wiggler was still hooked in the net to the line ,gone the belly hook and the split ring the hook still in her nose ,you would think the hook would go first not the split rings.blame it on brad ,still had a great time only saw 2 other fish caught, very slow will hit the wind this thru15 fri 16.have a buddy fishing the wind this tue and wed he will call me with the fish report for post, till then it springer time :D :D
