Well how was it Starfish? It sounds like it is heating up down there. I can't get down until next Sunday.

We had a great day today! 3 adults, 2 jacks, released a big steelhead, and had a couple of other takedowns. Most were on kwiks but we had a few on herring. Dang, I wish I didn't have to go to work...

Actually that WAS on Sunday, the clock on this website appears to be off by a day. Yes, the water was very low all day but it was steady so there was (barely) enough current to fish most places.

Spent three days at Ringold. Caught 1 Chinook and 1 Jack on Wed., 1 chinook and 1 steelhead on Thu., and 2 chinook on Fri. All the chinook were caught on K-16 Kwikfish and the steelhead on a wiggle wart.

Starfish. Time zones are based on user settings. You can adjust your time zone under "My Account" and "Preferences". This should fix the problem.

Thanks glock! I had no idea I was living in the same time zone as Vladivostok and Guam. Fixed now!
Back to the fishing reports, we stunk it up yesterday. We broke off a fish when the line inside the reel hung up on a knot and seized up the reel. Then we lost a nice fish when it threw the hooks. Finally we landed one jack to prevent a total skunk.
To top it off one of my favorite reels (Tekota 500lc) quit working.
I was searching to see if somebody slipped a banana in my boat by the end of the day.

Fished Vernita today (Sunday). There were about 25 boats in the king hole, only saw 2 kings caught and a couple of jacks. We tried K16, herring, spinny and eggs, and superbaits. We hit nothing.

Yeah, slow for us Sunday too. We got one adult on a K16, missed a good takedown on a herring, and had a driveby on a K15.

I fished a couple hours this morning (Monday) at Vernita. Had the place mostly to myself, but that didn't seem to help any--not even a bump.
Thought I'd post this little warning--could be nothing but the warning can't hurt. We had a couple guys ask us at the launch for gas money and offered to trade us some of their fishing tackle as compensation. I'd have felt bad gaining from someone else's misfortune, so I gave them a few bucks w/o even looking at the tackle, but as they left I couldn't help feeling more and more suspicious. I suspect they might have swiped the tackle from camps while folks are out fishing and then tried to sell the gear. If they really were low on gas, I did the right thing and no harm done, but if anybody sees a couple of 20-something men selling tackle from an Issuzu Rodeo under the guise of a low fuel tank, they're either really stupid and don't deserve a second break, or more likely--they're stealing from fisherman. Tell them you're on to them and they can either return the gear or wait for the police.
On that unhappy note, good luck on the water...

Wow- that's kind of spooky. Time to snap a cell phone camera of their rig and license plate if somebody spots them again. We sure don't need Vernita to turn into a place where you have to worry about break-ins.

Fished Ringgold Tuesday. Not even a bump, just pounds of weeds and more weeds

I think this round of warm weather is not helping things much, but the forecast is for cooler days ahead--hopefully the bite picks up.

Any good fishing stories from the Reach this year? Any big fish or big days? Memorable skunks?
