Trying to find out what water is good in Central Oregon between May and July. Target species are trout and maybe bass. Wanting a 3 - 5 day trip so I can cover a bit of water. Any Ideas? Experience? Thanks.

Never tried either, but I keep hearing the Lower John Day is famous for smallies that time of year, and the North and Middle Forks of the John Day drain wilderness areas--I bet they would be great for trout in the fly-only sections and below in the hardware sections too.

I'm actually thinking more about the Upper Deschutes area. Several rivers, creeks and lakes that are supposed to have some large fish around. Anyone have any info on this?
