From the looks of things, the water is pretty high and muddy. There were certainly some fish around before the big melt off. It should be great when the river clears as this is when a late group of scrapy wild fish usually arrives. Pinch your barbs, and handle these fish with care - they are awesome!! Check the USGS streamflow gauge for current river flow data. If the river doesn't clear and you are still coming down, Ringold springs on the Columbia is an Ok alternative for some steelhead fishing as it stays clear when all else is blown. Good luck!!

Hey, any news on the Tucannon right now? I'm heading over at the end of this week for some end of the season deer hunting. We generally hit some of the lakes for trout - any word on steelhead up high?

I think you might expect to see some trout. Pay close attention to the regulations pertaining to the area you will be fishing this time of year.

The Tucannon water levels are way too low right now and water temps o high. I wouldn't expect good fishing for 6-8 weeks........
its frustrating.
but, Oregon waters, wow. I had a good time there a few weeks ago!
