Anybody been out after springers? I'm headed out this weekend and wanted to hear some good news before I go. Smile Any suggestions on where would be appreciated as well.

Guys at work have picked up a few off the mouth of the Umatilla. Same old thing...anchored, K15s with a wrap behind a dropper.

We've done pretty well this year at both McNary and Drano. As stated above, anchor fishing at McNary has been good although I've heard it dropped off a bit the last day or two. We hit it for a few hours before work in the middle of the week and hit two keepers and two drivebys for two rods in about three hours one day, one driveby and no fish on another day. At Drano we managed three fish per day a week ago Thursday, Friday and again this Friday although the last fish this Friday was a wild one. Most of our Drano fish were on M2SPs but the last trip the bite was best on prawn spinners.

Good luck! Get 'em while they're hot!

They must call it "McNary" because there was nary a fish caught on Monday. We fished from 7:00-3:00 and had one drive-by on a Kwik while anchored, which was more than we saw or heard anybody else had.

Had another good strike while trolling, but I think it was a walleye that I yanked the hook out of with my monster power hook set technique.

Guess the river is closed now. Hoping to get to Drano at least once this month now. Just gotta find the time.
