I have decided to give back a little. I am trying to establish some form of a group that will give on day of one weekend to help clean up the Tucannon river valley.

I am currently trying to contact the right people within the WDFW and Forest Service to obtain their backing and guidance in doing so.

If anyone wants to contribute or help develop this please contact me

I am currently waiting for a response from WDFW if they will lead the efforts in this. I am elated at all of you responses to thiss effort. I hope that they will play ball and want to utilize us as a great resourse for the area. I will forward all messages I receive to this thread........

All of your ideas will be used if at all possible.

I hope this all plays out!!!!!

This is my way to give back to what I consider my fovorite plac ein the whole world. And in reality its a way for us to make it ours!!!!

Well it seems like this is going to be alot of work. The wdfw doesn't really want to play ball, unless we want to clean up the area around the Tucannon lakes.

It seems like I am going to have to do some leg work and talk to land owners to make this happen. It seems as if the big "liability" word is what is causing the problem.

I knew this was going to smoothly.

Scott

Scott,

Try these folks:

Tri-State Steelheaders Regional Fisheries Enhancement Group
P.O. Box 1375
216 N. Roosevelt
Walla Walla, WA
99362

(509) 529-3543

tssfish @ charterinternet.com

They've done lots to improve stream habitat and clean up the riverbeds; maybe they can give you a hand. If the dirty "L" word comes up with them too, then to heck with organization. Just give us a few options for dates and take a poll here at the site, tally the votes and set the date. Too good an idea to let WDFW and lawyers (no offense intended to AdiposeSoup) ground it.

Let me know if I can help,

Scott,

I would be glad to assist by seeking names of Land Owners in the areas we wish to clean up. I have a few contacts in Columbia County. We could contact the land owners and see what we can come up with. Are there any particular streches we are more concerned about?
