I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE USES POWER PRO LINE FOR STURGEON? I HAVE HEARD GOOD THINGS AND READ SOME REVIEWS ABOUT IT. THE ONE THING THAT IS ON MY MIND IS IF IT CAUSES BODY DAMAGE TO STURGEON THAT RAP THEMSELVES UP IN IT DURING THE FIGHT? I READ THAT IT CAN CUT A PERSONS HAND PRETTY GOOD AND TO CUT THE LINE OR WRAP IT AROUND SOMETHING WHEN SNAGGED. I WAS JUST CURIOUS IF ANYONE HAS HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT HURTING/DAMAGING FISH OR OTHER PROBLEMS?

The cutting issue is a real problem when you're tangling with a 300 pound fish. I haven't fished sturgeon enough to run into serious problems with that, but my foam grip on the rod is a good indication of what can happen when a biggun' is taking line on you. There are lots of deep cuts in the foam from the fish taking line off of a doubled over rod. The trade off is that the thinner line allows you to keep on the bottom in deep holes, whcih is really important.

I use maxima 30# for all my sturgeon fishing weather it be bank or boat,,,,, never had a issue with it so i don't plan to experiment with anything else. but alot of my friends tend to use tuff line but i not a fan of rope. i like the mono to give a bit.
