Hey All,

It has been 4 weeks since I have been out to the river and this cold weather coming in might ruin my chances of going.

Can anyone tell me if they think the weather might be to cold to be successful fishing this weekend. The cold weather really doesn't bother me, but I am not sure what it will do to the fishing.

Shouldn't put too much of a damper. With the higher flows we have now, temperature change should have less of an impact in the short term. I would think...

I agree with DoubleD. The fish do tend to become less active in cold water, but it doesnt mean they cant be caught. The biggest hatchrey fish I caught in 05 was during that december's cold snap with the water temp in the mid 30's. The site isnt working right now, but the monitoring station at Marengo has a temp gauge.

Thanks Dev88t and Double D. Not that any trip out fishing is a wasted trip, but you definately don't want to go out and brave the elements if it is all for loss.

Hope it dont mess things up cause I am heading out in the morning for the Walla Walla, Mill Creek and touchet...Although the touchet was hiigh and muddy as heck last week I am hoping it is toned down a bit by the morning.

I heard it was going to snow in the morning or I would be heading to the snake at Ice Habor..

Has anyone been doing anything up there?

Ice Harbor was good for us on Friday (4 for 6) but I haven't fished since then.

The flow graph on the Touchet was heading the right direction but still high when it quit updating on the 6th. Apparently that monitoring network is down statewide. The Walla Walla flow from the USGS site is still a bit high (1150 cfs) and steady but should drop with the cold weather.

Good luck out there!

Man Dev88t,

Just for you I'm going to catch Two. One for me and one for you!

Hahahaha! You know I'm only saying that because I am still running O'fer for the Tucannon. I have hooked into three different fish there and have lost them all. I have missed a few bobber downs and have spent some time on my face in the water there, but by GOD I AM GOING TO CATCH A FISH ON THIS TRIP!!!!!!

I have never felt so let down as I do after every trip to the Tucannon, especially when I am down there fishing with Dev88t. I have not been on a trip down there with him yet where he hasn't taken at least one out of the water. I know he feels bad for me but what can you say, you can't feel bad because your a better fishermen then I am.

I know I can catch Steelhead I do it all the time drift fishing on the Grande Ronde, but for some reason I have had very little success with the bobber and Jig. I am going to change that luck this weekend!!!

Maybe if I can get a little good luck shout out from everyone I can change my luck!

HEY I"LL TAKE WHATEVER I CAN GET AT THIS POINT TO CHANGE MY FREAKIN LUCK DOWN THERE!!! lol

Scottlake,

I will be up there on Friday and Saturday. To top it off we are going to stay over night in a tent at the RV park. Nuts huh!!!

You gotta love fishing to do that. I swear though I am not going O'fer on this trip. I will make the fish bite if I have to.
