Best part was watching glock pull off his wading boot to drain the water out of his leaking wader after each trip through a hole Smile I think he cut the hole in the stocking foot for drainage. Now that's fishin'.

I went up this weekend as well. I am on a streak now I tell you. again this weekend I managed to get into some fish and lose them with insufficient hooksets. Sat I had three takes and fish on but lost them, and on Sun I had two. My problem is when the water is this low I keep thinking my jig is catching bottom, which it is at times, and I lightly lift the rod to keep the drift giong and it is connected to a fish. Well by that time mister fishy knows what is going on and gets rid of me Embarassed Man that drives me crazy. Lesson learned: Set the darn hook on anything! That is the third trip in a row that I have hooked and lost fish. One of my buddies did land a nice native fish on Saturday. Oh well, more incentive for next time!!

Thanks

Dev88t are you going to the Tucannon this weekend. I will be there on Sunday. I think I will take your advise and shoot up by the hatchery. Then possibly work my way back to Starbuck.

Maybe I will see you out there this weekend.

Flyer,

I think you will be fine. If you don't get into steelhead, you should see some nice sized trout.

Hit the Tucannon with Dev88t on Sunday. I'll tell you what if it hadn't been for Dev88t reassurance that there are Steelhead in this river, I would have drove right pass this awesome area.

Dev88t pointed me in the right direction after several casts of frustration with no result Dev88t came to my rescue yet again setting me up in a perfect hole.

I started fishing the hole and Dev88t headed down strem to fish a different hole down below me. About 4 drifts down below me in front of some overhanging tree limbs and bobber down. My excitement only lasted about 15 seconds until a beautiful native ran straight towards the tree limbs and jumped into them and snapped me off. Rats!!!

That was my only luck for the day, but what an awesome day of running up and down the banks of the Tucannon.

Thanks Dev88t!!

Yeah it was a good thing I went downriver of RAE because it put me in perfect position to wade out and grab RAE's bobber after the break off Very Happy I had a good time on the water as well. Another one of my buddies went as well and we all got to see the bobber go down! My buddy caught a 26" hatchery hen, and I was struggling all day long, and then my bobber went down twice in about 15 minutes and I landed two wild fish. All in all it was a good day on the water, and it was great to meet another fishingnw.com member. RAE I look forward to more fishing in the future!

Dev88t,

Anytime I really enjoyed the company and the beer. I will be returning to try my luck on the Tucannon again as I can't stand being skunked. I will be much better prepared for the next trip to this beautiful stretch of river.
I was thinking if the weather held out I might travel back down there this weekend.

Thanks for all of the tips and knowledge that you gave me Dev88t, it made for a very memorable day on the water. Tell your friend I enjoyed his company as well and I am jealous on his catch. Next time I will bring the digital camera and we will get some pictures of those beautiful native fish. I am looking forward to this summer now for some of that Salmon action.

By the way if you are needing some fishing tackle when you get to the Tucannon river stop by Darver Tackle in Starbucks he will line you up with everything you need, maybe even a good location if your nice.

I am going to hold out this weekend, and head down the following weekend. I have only been out fishing for like 8 straight weekends. I know that my wife wouldnt mind if I went, but I dont think I should take advantage of it!! So if you want to hold out one weekend then I could meet up with you again.

Sounds like a plan to me. I actually won't be able to go this weekend either as my son's birthday is this Saturday. Curiosity has me ask though, do you know a place I could camp out down there so I might be able to spend the weekend down there.

Yeah, if you drive just past where we were fishing like 1/4 of a mile there is a little RV park there. I will keep in touch and try to meet up with you.

Darver Tackle is a pretty amazing store, especially considering the location!

I grew up in and near Starbuck!
