I live in Spokane and have fished the spokane river for last 13 years. It is an awesome recreational fishing river. Unfortunately due to a couple of accidents next to the river I do not recommend keeping the fish for consumption. However as far as catch and release and fly fishing, what an awesome river for trout fishing. I have landed several 7# plus sized fish and many many fish in the 1-2# size. I spen many hours on the Spokane river in the spring and summer months. If you like to lure fish I recommend you use the Panther Martin series they are amazing here.

Sounds great RAE,

to have a home river that provides such good trout fishing! Too bad about the fish not being safe to eat. Looking on the bright side, that must leave a lot of fish in the river to grow into big'uns!

I beleive you will be right on the money with that one in just a few more years. I caught and released some beautiful fish this year, there colors were awesome.

The water was extremly low though and some of my normal pockets were not there, so I did not get into any very large fish this year. I will post more pics this year as I invested in a digital camera finally.

I really do recommend you take a couple of days and come stay in Riverside state park they have tent camping or RV sites. They have a place where you can get a shower at the end of the day.

Not really roughing it, but trust me once you get down by the river there will be plenty of roughing it as there are great trails that take you along the river.

The spokane river really is a beautiful river to fish in or just hike beside. The bowl and pitcher are well worth seeing while you stay at Riverside State Park. I hope to see you all down by the banks this summer.

Hi-
I don't know if anyone is still looking at this thread but I have a few questions. I'm a freshman at Gonzaga and was wondering if there is anywhere that would be good lure/fly fishing within walking distance of GU, being that I don't have a car. Any suggestions are much appreciated!
